It's not just Alaska and Hawaii that are missing— the occupied territories aren't shown, either.

No, I think TLP is trying to say all the minorities were gotten rid of - notice how the map is all 'white'. (Which doesn't seem true to me, but it's not my blog.)

In the long run, a hierarchical society was only possible on a basis of poverty and ignorance.
The very word 'war', therefore, has become misleading. It would probably be accurate to say that by becoming continuous war has ceased to exist.
ONE UNIFIED FEDERAL GOVERNMENT
WAR IS PEACE
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH

Ya, Chef, that's probably what he means. He doesn't want to make it too easy for us.

America is alone. This isn't even a geographic map with the American borders defined; it's just a cut-out of the mainland United States. You wouldn't know that Mexico or Canada so much as existed.

I have no idea what this means. It's not just me, right?

Yeah, that has the ring of truth to me.
And hasn't TLP mentioned before that 9/11 was like a narcissistic injury to us? So we end up responding, but our reactions all come from a kind of national narcissism, and narcissists don't connect well with other people, sooo...

I'm betting he wishes he included Alaska and Hawaii. Oh well, we are all limited in our awesomeness.

The rest of the world, Alaska, Hawaii, state lines, and geographical features. ...?

So, we're more isolated from the world now? In what ways?

We now definitely think we are the only people in this world?

You guys are over-thinking this. It's a map of the continental US. The same continental US that existed prior to September 11, 2001.
Nothing has changed. And not just geographically.

it means "9-11 didn't change America at all." I think that's why he avoided the typical construction "How Has America Changed Since 9-11?" America has changed considerably, but, as Alone suggests, 9-11 hasn't had much impact in the long run.

Then again, he may just be trying to see what everyone else comes up with, like a Rorschach test.

Something about narcissism? Stupidest fucking generation of all time? If you're watching it's for you? Gotta be one of those.
